Status and Service Updates
The Savio Scratch File System is back online and accessible: Wed, 9/10
The Savio Scratch file system is back to normal. Access to Scratch via SSH, Globus, and Open OnDemand will continue to work as usual for all users. Please test it on your end and let us know if you see any problems. We are thankful for your patience and support. As part of best practices, we again urge users to regularly back up their files from scratch to permanent storage discs and avoid storing large numbers of small files on scratch for extended periods.
The Savio Scratch File System is Currently Down (Wed, 9/10)
The Savio /global/scratch parallel file system has been down since this morning due to an unforeseen problem. The investigation is underway. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated on the investigation's status.
Savio Downtime: 8AM Fri, 7/4 - 5PM Mon, 7/7
We are planning a downtime to conduct storage-related work on DDN and VAST, which is critical for the HPC services. The downtime will start at 8AM on Friday, 7/4. We plan to work over the weekend, anticipating a return to service by 5PM on Monday, 7/7. During the downtime, you will have no access to the Savio cluster or be able to run jobs. A Slurm reservation is in place, so please make sure that you complete your jobs within the proper walltime; otherwise, your jobs will wait in the queues until the downtime is over.
