The fifth bi-annual Consulting Summit on November 7 brought together academic support staff and librarians from across the campus to compare experiences providing help to instructors and researchers, and to explore the topic of inclusion and diversity in the services they provide.
The next Consulting Summit -- a partnership between the D-Lab, Educational Technology Services (ETS), the Library, and Research IT -- will be held on April 20th from 10 - 2:15 at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS), in 190 Doe Library.
October 20th marked the third semiannual Consulting Summit at BIDS, which brought together individuals from over twenty organizations that provide some variety of “consulting” around research and/or teaching. 40% of the participants indicated that it was their first Consulting Summit.
On April 7th, approximately 40 staff from over 15 departments convened at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) for the second Consulting Summit for individuals tasked with supporting research and pedagogy. The Summit provides an opportunity to meet colleagues from other areas of campus, discuss approaches and best practices, and form working groups that aim to address common needs and challenges.
On October 22nd, individuals from ten different campus organizations and UC partners convened at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science for a planning meeting that laid the groundwork for a second Consulting Summit, currently scheduled for April 2016.
