Berkeley Prosopography Services seminar through UCB’s Social Science Matrix

Laurie Pearce and Patrick Schmitz of the Berkeley Prosopography Services project will team up to lead a Fall 2014 seminar through the UC Berkeley Social Science Matrix. The seminar will bring together researchers from multiple disciplines who work with historical social networks or whose theoretical work contributes to understanding how historical social networks are formed and revealed.

Research IT at OneIT Summit: Posters and BoF session

Research IT posters as displayed at the OneIT Summit on 25 June 2014

On June 25, 2014 the Research IT team joined more than 400 colleagues to participate in a "forum for UC Berkeley IT staff and teams to network, share their work, highlight new technology and provide status on key initiatives." The OneIT Summit included posters describing a broad range of information technology services, projects, and initiatives offered by teams across the campus.

Retrospective analysis of Project Bamboo humanities cyberinfrastructure effort

What Ever Happened to Project Bamboo?”, a retrospective on a Mellon-funded cyberinfrastructure project led by Research IT from 2008-2012, has been published in LLC, the Journal of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations. The paper is based on a talk by Quinn Dombrowski, Digital Humanities Coordinator in Research IT, at the 2013 international Digital Humanities conference.

One IT Summit June 25th

The One IT Summit is a forum for UC Berkeley IT staff and teams to network, share their work, highlight new technology and provide status on key initiatives. Please join us on Wednesday, June 25th, 8:30 AM - 2 PM AT Memorial Stadium Field, Club Level.

Research IT team members will be presenting on several projects, such as Berkeley Research Computing, CollectionSpace, Research Data Management, and Digital Humanities @ Berkeley.
