Introductory GPU Computation Workshop: February 1 & 8, 2016

January 26, 2016

A two-session, introductory workshop on using Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) for computationally intensive tasks will be held on Monday February 1 and February 8, 2016, from 4:10 to 5:30 p.m., in 1011 Evans Hall on the UC Berkeley campus. The workshop will focus on computations in the areas of data science, data analysis, statistics, and machine learning.

The workshop will assume familiarity with programming in Python, R, or C, and some experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment. However, no previous knowledge of GPUs is required. You can find workshop materials on the Statistical Computing Facility website.

This workshop is sponsored by the Department of Statistics, and will be taught by Chris Paciorek, a Statistical Computing Consultant, lecturer, and researcher in that department, as well as a domain consultant for Research IT.
