BRC Launch Event May 22nd

April 28, 2014

We are having an event to mark the launch of the new UC Berkeley Research Computing (BRC) program, on Thursday, May 22, 3pm in the Banatao Auditorium, Sutardja Dai Hall.  Many of you contributed last year to the requirements that defined BRC.  Thank you for your time and energy to make this happen.  With your enthusiasm and support, we’ve been able to establish a partnership between the Chancellor’s, VC Research’s, and CIO’s Offices to sustainably fund the program.  We would now like to share with you the plans for BRC as we kick-off the program.

At the launch event, we will provide an overview of BRC services and the partnerships that make up the program.  Faculty will speak about their research and how BRC can help to support this work, including Professors Eliot Quataert (Astrophysics), Rasmus Nielson (Integrative Biology), Cathryn Carson (History, and Social Sciences D-Lab), and David Culler (EECS).  A short reception will then follow.

Please RSVP online, if you plan to come.

More information about Berkeley Research Computing is available at: http://research-it.berkeley.edu/services/berkeley-research-computing.  If you have any questions, please contact the BRC program at: research-it@berkeley.edu

We hope that you will join us for this kick-off.  Please feel free to share this with other colleagues on campus who you think may be interested.
